The ED team arrives and intubates the patient uneventfully. They ask for your recommendations for next steps and when you'll admit the patient. You quickly staff the case and conclude that you need to take the patient to the OR emergently.
In the OR, the patient undergoes a right-sided craniotomy for hematoma evacuation. Bright red blood was drained and a subdural drain was placed. Hemostasis was achieved. The bone flap was able to be replaced. Fortunately, anesthesia is able to extubate him at the conclusion of the procedure. He is admitted to the NCCU thereafter.
