Case-Based Modules > Case 10 > Stage 3

It's now post-stroke day 1. You walk in to a large crowd of team members outside the patient's room. The patient just had a decline in her mentation and is unable to manage her secretions. The attending intubated the patient uneventfully and proceeded straight to bronchoscopy. There was a small mucus plug in the RUL, but the rest of her airways were clear. She is left on propofol gtt.

You obtain a STAT non-contrast head CT and repeat CTA head/neck. You see expected evolution in her infarct, with 1mm of rightward midline shift as well as mild effacement of the left lateral ventricle. Her MCA remains patent.
