Sorry! It's true that removing a bone flap should significantly improve ICPs now that there's no longer (as much of) a fixed volume. However, unfortunately, patients can definitely still have elevated ICPs even after undergoing a DHC. It's especially apparent in patients whose brains are so edematous that they already significantly protrude through the cranial defect; their flaps are alarmingly tense.
